  • Introducing Bank Contemporary

Bank Contemporary, the brainchild of renowned collector and curator Paul 'Dizzi' Saunders, is proud to announce the opening of its new gallery in Radlett. Originally founded in 2010 as the London Westbank Gallery, this innovative art space has continued to push the boundaries of contemporary art, evolving into a dynamic hub for creativity and artistic expression.

Inspired by London's vibrant underground culture, Paul "Dizzi" Saunders founded the London Westbank Gallery in a semi-derelict neoclassical bank in the center of West London. The gallery served not only as an exhibition space for art, but also as a creativity center with studio spaces and a multimedia production complex where people could engage with the creation and development of street and contemporary art.

Under Dizzi's visionary leadership, – the gallery hosted more than 20 exhibitions a year from 2010 to 2015 and numerous high-profile pop-up exhibitions in unconventional venues, including the 2013 debut of Smile Britannia – the first street art auction to be held in the Houses of Parliament, which raised almost £100,000 for charity and starred Fatboy Slim

From the bank, Paul moved under the Westway to further expand the identity of his brand and push the boundaries. In this new location, where all the walls were movable, one found a fully functioning art gallery during the week, and on the weekends the walls rotated, transforming the space into a successful club, much like Fat Sam's Grand Slam from Bugsy Malone.

The gallery's identity also expanded to include art rental, curation and other events that not only took place in the gallery, but also a series of award-winning events such as 'Urban in Ibiza' and an Art Barn that housed larger works rented for film sets, theatre productions and brand activations.

The new space in Radlett marks a new chapter as Bank Contemporary remains dedicated to providing a platform for contemporary artists and immersing the public in the vibrant world of contemporary art. Under the visionary leadership of Paul “Dizzi” Saunders, the gallery will continue to redefine artistic and cultural landscapes.
